Job Title: Junior Firewall Engineer

Role Description:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
· 3-5 years in network security, network engineering, or similar
· Load Balancers (preferably A10, but any experience such as F5, Netscreen, etc would help)
· Experience with micro-segmentation and understanding of the micro-segmentation concepts
· IDS/IPS technologies
· TCP/IP addressing
· Network Ports/Protocols
· Basic understanding of routing and switching
· Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot: firewalls, network-based intrusion systems, web proxies, load balancers, network-based dynamic malware engines, and endpoint security solutions.
· Manage Cisco ASA platform including but not limited to licensing, update management, patching, and inventory.
· Monitor the ticket queue for new requests.
· The position requires the employee to go into the office at a minimum 1 day a week in Bethesda, Maryland.
· Capture new requests as tickets, and document progress towards fulfillment in the ticket.
· Work with requestors to capture and document explicit business, functional, and technical requirements.
· Document, update, and maintain accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Support infrastructure deployment, and operational tickets including policy review, testing deployment.
· Draft change control documentation and employ approved change management practices to authorize work activities.
· Draft, update, and maintain system documentation.
· Employ the System Development Lifecycle for all managed security systems.
