Jira Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop workflows; build custom applications; develop mechanisms to automate manual processes; platform upgrades; migration to target state platform.
• Research technical issues using vendor support procedures, web sites, and other troubleshooting methods.
• Provide appropriate IT associates with technical training, support and secondary documentation for Jira applications.
• Develop root cause analysis and business case for proposed technology, staff and structure changes, including cost estimates.
• Establish standards for measuring performance against process requirements.
• Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
• Develop metrics that provide data for process management indicators for future improvement opportunities.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of DevOps best practices, AWS cloud technology & programming is required.
• Scripting with at least one of the following languages: Groovy, Python, or Shell.
• Strong fundamentals on programming to solve problems with at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, C++, C#, Ruby, or Golang.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux is required, Windows desired.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies.

Required Experience

• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux administration
• Working experience in HTML, JavaScript, Groovy script and Python
• Experience in using/extending REST/API Services and Java scripts.
• Experience creating Jira templates, custom issues and workflows, custom forms and attributes.
• Experience with the Jira asset management system.
• Experience in building dashboards and reports.
• Jira self-hosted server to Saas cloud migration experience.
• AWS experience and/or certification(s).

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
