JAVA Fullstack Developer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Full Stack Developer to join our team and contribute to a high-impact, dealer-facing application project at Ford Credit. This role involves full lifecycle development with a strong focus on cloud migration, security remediation, and ongoing application enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tech Refresh and Cloud Migration:

Lead the migration of our dealer-facing application from PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) to GCP (Google Cloud Platform).

Analyze the existing codebase and infrastructure to identify dependencies, bottlenecks, and potential migration challenges.

Design and implement a phased, low-downtime migration strategy.

Collaborate with cloud engineers and infrastructure teams to configure and optimize GCP resources for scalability, performance, and security.

Contribute to periodic technology upgrades (e.g., Spring Boot, Java versions).

2. Security Remediation:

Identify and address security vulnerabilities using tools such as Fossa, SonarQube, Checkmarx, and 42Crunch.

Apply secure coding practices and integrate security controls throughout the development lifecycle.

Collaborate with the security and compliance teams to ensure industry-standard practices are met and maintained.

3. Application Maintenance and Enhancements:

Develop and deploy effective solutions for production issues and user-reported bugs.

Implement enhancements and new features based on stakeholder requirements.

Ensure high-quality code through regular code reviews and automated testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.

Proficiency in frontend technologies such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.

Experience in cloud migration, especially to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.

Experience using security and code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube, Checkmarx, Fossa).

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with PCF to GCP migration projects.

Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and other modern security protocols.

Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
