Job Description:
This position supports the mission critical NY.gov authentication system, which provides access to all New York State government web applications.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Installing and Deploying J2EE applications on Production/Non-Production WebSphere cluster environments.
Troubleshooting user issues on Staging/QA environments and communicating directly with the users to resolve application related issues.
Designing and implementing J2EE design patterns using Rational Software Architect (RSA). Implementing design patterns like Session Façade, Front Controller, Data accessing object, business delegate, Value object patterns and so on.
Identifies and recommends development methodologies and frameworks for the projects.
Developing Java code for reusable and distributed components for J2EE applications.
Designing and developing UI Screens using AJAX, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Developing code to meet NY State accessibility standards.
Reviews the project requirements and risks/benefits involved and provides estimates to the Project Manager and to the users for the work to be completed.
Monitoring service requests/incidents that were assigned to our team using Service Management (ITSM) tool and resolve them based on severity.
Developing and maintaining Web Services solutions (REST/SOAP).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
