IT Web Designer 3

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Web Designer 3 with extensive experience in web development, particularly with WordPress and Drupal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of website development including design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance. You will ensure that websites are visually appealing, user-friendly, responsive, and optimized for performance. This role requires a strong understanding of web technologies, user experience, and accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the subject matter expert for website design and development initiatives.
Design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications using WordPress, Drupal, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
Ensure responsive and adaptive design across all devices and screen sizes.
Evaluate and debug code for usability, scalability, and performance.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to execute visually appealing and user-centric websites.
Test websites before deployment and troubleshoot post-deployment issues.
Maintain website functionality and perform regular updates as needed.
Integrate websites with internal systems or third-party platforms (e.g., Workday, social media).
Maintain and improve site structure, database connectivity, and backend processes.
Implement and maintain ADA accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 compliance).
Utilize Google Analytics and other reporting tools for website performance analysis.
Stay current with the latest web development trends, standards, and technologies.

Technical Skills & Competencies:
Proficient in WordPress and Drupal development.
Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API integration.
Understanding of UI/UX best practices, cross-browser compatibility, and web standards.
Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services.
Familiarity with ADA accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
Skilled in debugging, testing, and optimization of web applications.
Experience with Google Analytics and reporting tools.
Knowledge of ESRI or other mapping software is a plus.
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
Experience with platform integration through API hooks.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of professional web development experience.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience supporting both internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
