  • A solutions architect is responsible for creating the overall technical vision for a specific solution to a business problem. In this case, it is to create a user interface that takes input from various databases and outputs them to one single output database. The solution architect will design, describe, and manage the solution, and effectively build a bridge between a business problem and the technology solution (programming team).
  • Understands business goals, objectives and needs of the business solution environment.
  • Develops software design, application-related IT solutions and its individual components, balances alternatives.
  • Is also responsible for the design of data architectures supporting data modelling and engineering in the context of data analytics (Data Stewardship).
  • Employs techniques and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data through data analysis such as statistics, data mining and predictive analytics.
  • Validates the IT solution architecture against business requirements and assumptions, and prioritizes them.
  • Contributes and supports planning, budgeting, design and alignment of business processes and corresponding IT solution architecture.
  • May coordinate relevant unit and integration tests, and documents new IT Solutions Architectures, and maintains existing.
  • Supports the integration of necessary IT security guidelines.
  • Typically reports to an IT Manager or IT Project Manager.
