Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders, including clinical staff, finance teams, and IT departments, to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements for healthcare IT systems and processes.
  • Business Intelligence Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide real-time insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle management, patient care, and operational efficiency.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Analyze and optimize RCM processes, including patient registration, billing, claims processing, and reimbursement, to enhance financial performance and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in healthcare operations and financial workflows.
  • System Integration: Work with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of healthcare IT systems (e.g., EHR/EMR, billing systems) with business intelligence tools and other platforms.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders, including executives and department leaders.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes through data-driven insights and process optimization.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all solutions align with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines) and industry best practices.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the healthcare industry.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
    • Proven expertise in revenue cycle management, including billing, coding, claims processing, and reimbursement.
    • Experience with healthcare IT systems such as Epic, Cerner, or other EHR/EMR platforms.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Power BI for creating dashboards, reports, and data models.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
    • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include CBAP, CCBA, or healthcare-specific certifications (e.g., AHIMA, HFMA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling or machine learning.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies for project management
