Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced HL7 Integration Specialist with advanced skills in Rhapsody Integration Engine and JavaScript. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in connecting our platform with electronic health records (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), and other clinical systems. You’ll be responsible for building, customizing, and supporting interfaces that allow real-time, bi-directional data flow between our cloud-based platform and external healthcare systems. This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced health tech environment and is passionate about improving healthcare through interoperability.

Responsibilities: -

  • Design and implement data integrations using InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS between HIE partners and internal On-prem/Cloud systems.
  • Debug and fix defects in InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS related to HIE connected Healthcare participants.
  • Develop XSLTs and DTLs to transform CCDA/FHIR/HL7 messages to and from Summary Document Architecture (SDA) format.
  • Ensure systems development and support, and create design and technical specifications from business requirement specifications.
  • Oversee best practices design and development, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with fellow developers and Technical Leads.
  • Deliver projects within defined time and budget, and in line with high quality standards.
  • Enable successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive project and technology goals in compliance with organizational objectives.

Mandatory skills

  • 3+ years of experience working with HL7 v2.x, FHIR, and related healthcare data standards.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Rhapsody Integration Engine, including filter components, mapping, and communication points.
  • Fluent in JavaScript, particularly in scripting environments for data transformation and logic control.
  • Proven ability to work with APIs (RESTful/SOAP), JSON, XML, and other structured data formats.
  • Experience working in cloud-based environments and/or with SaaS health tech products.
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows and the role of data integration in digital health.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.t

Good to have skills: -

  • Experience Prior experience at a digital health company, health information exchange, or EHR vendor.
  • Experience with SMART on FHIR or OAuth2-based healthcare APIs.
  • Experience with an EHR system like Epic.
  • HL7 or Rhapsody certification
