IBM API DEVELOPER

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and support APIs using IBM API Connect, DataPower, Gateway Script, XSLT, OAuth2.0, and JWT.

Engage in pure development tasks, focusing on building and maintaining APIs.

Handle Business-As-Usual (BAU) tasks and support ongoing projects.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless API integration and functionality.

Troubleshoot and resolve API-related development and integration issues.

Manage security configurations including certificate management, cryptographic profiles, and SSL/TLS setups.

Perform API installation, configuration, and version management for API Connect and DataPower (v2018, v10).

Work with RESTful APIs, DataPower policies, and API Connect assembly actions.

Conduct upgrades, fix packs, and general platform maintenance.

Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) and implement security patches as required.

Handle user management, RBAC, and privilege configurations for the integration layer.

Provide client support, addressing technical issues and delivering post-deployment assistance.

Manage technical rollouts, perform Post Implementation Reviews (PIR), and support technical strategies.

Integrate APIs with backend services, databases, and third-party applications.

Required Skills & Experience:

2–3 years of experience with IBM API Connect and DataPower.

Hands-on experience with:

Web Service Proxy (WSP)

Multi-Protocol Gateway (MPGW)

Firewall Services

DataPower Logs & Logging Configuration

SSL, AAA, Sign/Verify, Encrypt/Decrypt configurations

Familiarity with API lifecycle, performance monitoring, and optimization.

Strong knowledge of OAuth, OpenID, REST, and API security patterns.

Proficiency in shell scripting, PowerShell, and working in Linux/UNIX environments.

Understanding of symmetric, asymmetric, and hybrid cryptography.

Experience in creating objects and uploading .pem / .key files in DataPower.

Administrative experience with upgrades, reloads, and reboots in DataPower.

Knowledge of OpenShift and Docker is an added advantage.
