Google Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for building coding standards and framework.
• Guide onshore and offshore Developers to ensure standards are met.
• Work with the application development teams throughout the development life cycle ü Evaluate google cloud technologies, features and products.
• Lead or participate in Proof-of-Concept projects.
• Ability to take initiative and ownership on tasks with good written and oral communication.
• Explain complex design items through documents and white-board sessions.

Required Skills

• Advanced Java/Python coding skills.
• Solid foundation in design, data structures and algorithms, and strong analytical and debugging skills with customer-facing products.
• Hands-on solution driven attitude, with ability to turn around quick insights along with delivering strategic capabilities.
• Multi-tasking ability to participate in multiple complex programs at the same time in an agile environment.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of agile software development methodology.
• Excellent personal communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the field of data.
• 4+ years of experience designing, coding, testing, and supporting scalable data lake environments for high-quality, repeatable and automated data ingestion, staging, data quality monitoring, business modeling, forecasting, and optimization solution.
• 3+ Year with Google Cloud Platform – with hands-on experience with all / some Google Cloud Platform technologies for example: Pub/Sub (Streaming), Cloud Functions, DataFlow (Apache Beam), Cloud Machine Learning, Cloud Data Store and BigTable, BigQuery,Google Airflow.
• Experience with designing and building highly available and scalable applications in GCP.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Technical team management experience including offshore team members.
• Retail related data warehousing experience a plus.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
