Description

We are seeking an experienced ERP Functional Architect to support and enhance our Microsoft Dynamics GP and Dynamics 365 Business Central platforms. This role will be instrumental in providing L1 and L2 support, driving system improvements, and leading ERP-related initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

•                 Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational workflows, business needs, and system goals.

•                 Analyze and document current processes and identify improvement opportunities using Dynamics GP and Business Central.

•                 Translate business requirements into functional specifications and workflows for ERP solutions.

 

System Configuration & Functional Support

•                 Configure and maintain modules in both Dynamics GP and Dynamics 365 Business Central, such as Financials, Inventory, Purchasing, Sales, HR, and Payroll.

•                 Align system configurations with business requirements and compliance standards.

•                 Administer user access, security roles, and permissions across both platforms.

 

Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting

•                 Provide daily support to users, resolving functional issues in Dynamics GP and Business Central, including transaction errors, workflow interruptions, and data inconsistencies.

•                 Serve as a subject matter expert for ERP troubleshooting and issue triage, escalating technical issues as needed.

•                 Maintain detailed documentation of issues and resolutions to support knowledge sharing and reduce recurring problems.

 

Implementation, Integration & Upgrades

•                 Assist in or lead ERP implementation projects, migrations, or system upgrades involving GP and/or Business Central.

•                 Support data migration and integrity efforts when transitioning from GP to Business Central.

•                 Collaborate with developers and technical teams to support system integrations (e.g., CRM, payroll systems, third-party add-ons).

 

Reporting & Documentation

•                 Develop functional documentation including system setup guides, SOPs, and end-user training manuals.

•                 Create or support the development of custom reports using SSRS, SmartList, Management Reporter, Jet Reports, or Power BI.

•                 Gather business reporting requirements and ensure alignment with operational KPIs.

 

User Training & Functional Support

•                 Conduct end-user training sessions and workshops for both GP and Business Central platforms.

•                 Serve as the primary contact for functional support and user onboarding across ERP systems.

•                 Promote ERP best practices and drive user adoption across departments.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration

•                 Work closely with finance, operations, HR, and IT teams to understand business needs and deliver system solutions.

•                 Coordinate with external vendors and consultants for third-party system support and enhancements.

•                 Support integration efforts between Dynamics GP and Business Central during phased transitions.

 

Technical Skills & Tools

•                 Working knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and ERP data structures.

•                 Familiarity with add-ons and extensions in both GP and Business Central.

•                 Understanding of API integrations, workflows, and cloud/on-premise deployment models
