Primary Functions: 

Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts and models that will guide decision-makers to make more informed, effective, and impactful business and technology investment decisions through strategies, roadmaps and standards for domains and products across the organization. You will be joining a product team within this organization, so previous experience working on product teams is a major plus. This is more so a Solution Architect so Application expertise is great. 

Soft Skills: 

  • Strong communication skills and documentation skills 
  • Banking/Lending/Insurance background is nice/ideal but not a requirement for the job 
  • Ability to influence and persuade – able to build relationships 
  • Forward thinker, strategic thinker 
  • Togaf certification if possible 
  • Cloud smart organization; familiarity with cloud integration – Azure if possible 
  • Strong communication skills; stand in front of room and lead through complex problems and lead them to right answer 

Experience Required: 

  • 4+ years of experience in an Enterprise Architect role 
  • Modifying certified Enterprise Architect frameworks to make it practical for the organizational needs. Banking or Credit Union environment industry experience. 
  • Familiarity with Agile process development and Product Management methodologies. Intermediate to expert experience in SQL, Microsoft Excel (charting, graphing, pivot tables), Microsoft Visio (process flow diagrams), Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Share Point. 
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Fundamentals; exposure to Enterprise Architecture software tools desired 
  • Need excellent communication skills, business acumen, consultative attitude, presentation skills, ability to articulate technical skills 
  • Ability to communicate to all levels in the organization and communicate effectively to stakeholders  
  • Ability to provide guidance to the organization 
  • Financial background is a plus 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Understanding the long-term ("big picture strategist") and short-term (“small picture tactician”) perspectives of situations 
  2. Building and maintaining relationships with organizational stakeholders by leveraging consultative methods 
  3. Providing actionable recommendations about investment decisions, using technology to make that change happen 
  4. Leading and facilitating discussions about the risks and implications of product decisions across the enterprise 
  5. Translating business architecture and processes into technological decisions to support Product Management teams 
  6. Leveraging knowledge of business, operating, and financial models and frameworks 
  7. Creative problem-solving around product / domain-specific challenges, while thinking about the effects on the rest of the organization 
  8. Understanding, connecting and articulating technology implications of business goals and vice-versa 
  9. Demonstrating leadership qualities, self-motivation and ability to work in a collaborative team environment while navigating the political landscape 
  10. Facilitating difficult conversations, having a holistic and empathetic mindset, bringing concepts to life through presentations, showcasing excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills 
  11. Developing to-be architectures as part of curating a domain’s artifacts 
  12. Developing architectural and technical standards 
  13. Developing transition architecture to guide migration between as-is and to-be architectures 
  14. Creating roadmaps and strategies for long-term planning 
  15. Leading discussions with vendors, value added resellers (VARs), and other 3rd parties 
  16. Serving as a visionary in the field of the enterprise architecture discipline 
  17. Perform other duties as assigned
