Job Description:
This role is focused solving electronics issues primarily for released Video products, including selection and qualification of alternate components, failure analysis, related product EE design updates, testing, etc. The role could also support development projects in the areas of alternate component identification and test.

  • Minimum 5 years EE design experience in consumer/mass production product design environment.
  • Proficiency to identify and confirm via thorough review, analysis, and hands-on verification testing appropriate alternate source electronic component solutions or design changes to address design improvement, obsolescence, supply chain easement, etc, of released products.
  • Proficiency using OrCAD schematic and PCB viewer tools
  • Familiar with component selection and verification requirements in the following example areas:
    • Passive components (RLC), transistors, power supplies (SMPS, LDO, other regulators), signal and power switches, microcontrollers, high-speed and low-speed memory (LPDDRx, eMMC, EEPROM), audio components (digital and analog MEMs mics), RF subsystem components (Wifi, BT, LTE, GNSS), sensor systems, protection circuitry (ESD, voltage and current limiting components), LEDs, SMT connectors, batteries and battery packs, PCBs, etc
  • Make relevant design changes to Bills of Material (BOMs), Schematics, Layouts as needed for the change request.
  • Interface with ME and FW teams to ensure cross functional input and understanding of changes
  • Interface with suppliers to select and finalize design changes
  • Support validation team with developing test plan, triage issues, and finalize changes.
  • Drive change requests to completion by following change control process using Arena PLM tools and process knowledge.

  • Additional (nice to have) Qualification: Proficiency using OrCAD PCB Editor layout tools for supporting PCB layout updates
