EDI Technical Analyst

1. Requirements Analysis
   • Review Message Implementation Guides (MIGs)
   • Analyze data availability in SAP IDocs
   • Identify gaps between requested data and current system capabilities
   • Coordinate with ABAP developers for custom field requirements
2. Solution Design
   • Create and review mapping specifications
   • Design EDI solutions that align with business processes
   • Document technical specifications and integration flows
   • Ensure compliance with EDI standards and business requirements
3. Testing & Implementation
   • Perform end-to-end testing of EDI processes
   • Validate data mapping and transformations
   • Test business scenarios (e.g., ASN with pick/pack processes)
   • Support user acceptance testing

Problem Resolution
 

• Investigate and resolve EDI transmission failures
• Analyze rejection causes (master data, IDoc issues, mapping problems)
• Troubleshoot issues across multiple platforms (SAP, BOOMI, GXS)
• Provide expert consultation during implementation and testing

Governance & Documentation
 

• Participate in governance calls with stakeholders
• Maintain documentation of EDI processes and configurations
• Create and update technical specifications
• Document best practices and lessons learned

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills
 

1. SAP Knowledge
   • Deep understanding of SAP IDoc structure and processing
   • Experience with SAP EDI configuration
   • Familiarity with ABAP development concepts
   • Understanding of SAP business processes
2. EDI Expertise
   • Proficient in EDI standards and protocols
   • Experience with EDI mapping tools
   • Understanding of B2B integration concepts
   • Knowledge of EDI security standards
3. Integration Skills
   • Experience with middleware platforms
   • Understanding of API integration
   • Knowledge of file transfer protocols
   • Data mapping and transformation expertise
