DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, build, and deployment of eCommerce applications.
• Implement and manage release management processes and workflows, ensuring consistency and traceability of deployments across environments.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to streamline deployments on Shopify, custom APIs, and frontend platforms like Netlify or Vercel.
• Administer and optimize version control workflows using GitHub or GitLab.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to builds, deployments, and infrastructure reliability.
• Automate operational tasks and infrastructure provisioning to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Enforce best practices in configuration management, code quality, and security.
• Maintain documentation for deployment processes, tools, and environments.
• Participate in incident response and post-mortem reviews to improve system reliability and deployment resilience.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Release Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools and source control systems, particularly GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong knowledge of Shopify development and deployment processes (themes, storefront APIs, custom apps).
• Hands-on experience with hosting and deployment platforms such as Netlify, Vercel, or similar JAMstack ecosystems.
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and static site generation (e.g., Next.js, React, Liquid).
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or JavaScript for automation tasks.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of content delivery networks (CDNs), DNS, and web performance optimization.
• Experience integrating QA automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with observability and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Sentry).
• Background in working with Agile or SAFe methodologies
