Description

Qualifications:

  • Over 6 years of experience in COBOL development, primarily on Linux environments.
  • Proficient in COBOL programming, with a strong understanding of relational databases (Oracle preferred).
  • Experience with Unix systems and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of SOAP or RESTful APIs, including XML/JSON data interchange formats.
  • C programming experience.
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud technologies (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, construct, test, and implement business and technical IT solutions, adhering to appropriate software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Work on systems utilizing core technologies (Developer Core), custom off-the-shelf systems (Developer COTS), and niche technologies such as eCommerce systems and specialty development.
  • Build, test, and deploy portions of business and technical solutions in line with software development best practices.
  • Participate in standard business and technical solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions.
  • Use relevant tools to analyze, identify, and resolve business and technical problems.
  • Apply specialized knowledge in areas such as assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, knowledge engineering, industry expertise, or legacy system evolution.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand business requirements and technical contexts.
  • Validate scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned projects.
