Description

 

The Desktop Administrator maintains and tests all desktop/laptop operating system images and desktop/laptop enterprise security. Other areas of responsibility are software/hardware upgrades, patch management, anti-virus management, application installs, maintenance and deployment of enterprise mobile device management system and provides day-to-day hands on support for the organization’s laptops, desktops, mobile devices and applications. This position interfaces directly with internal customers both onsite and remotely.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Tier 2 Support for Desktop/Laptop related issues

• Test new applications and hardware with Desktop/Laptop operating system images

• Maintain Desktop/Laptop operating system images

• Deploy security patches and antivirus/malware updates to Desktop/Laptops

• Maintain and deploy desktop/laptop applications

• Configure and maintain Desktop/Laptop security to include end point protection and hard drive encryption

• Maintain and deploy enterprise mobile device management system

• Preparation of charts and diagrams to document desktop environment and operations

• Provide good written and oral communication skills

• Create and maintain end user documentation

• Must be customer service orientated

Positions in this function provide technical support to the enterprise. This function includes employees working on incident management response and restoration; determination of issue priority, provisioning, and service request fulfillment; installations, upgrades, and releases/deployments; and problem management analysis and resolution. It also includes data center construction, operations, and maintenance employees. Qualifications - External Required Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field or IT related degree and/or combination of directly related work experience commensurate to 4+ years of experience

• Microsoft System Center experience

• Test new applications and hardware with Desktop/Laptop operating system images

• Desktop and Laptop Break/Fix experience
