Design Release engineer

Key Responsibilities:
·        Lead the design and release of automotive exterior components such as bumpers, grilles, mirrors, FEM, Side claddings, spoiler’s door handles, and other trim parts.
·        Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, as well as corporate design and engineering standards.
·        Collaborate with styling and design teams to translate aesthetic intent into manufacturable and functional components.
·        Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimize design for cost, quality, and production feasibility.
·        Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and ensure robust design validation through physical and virtual testing.
·        Manage engineering changes, component releases, and BOM updates through the product development lifecycle.
·        Provide technical support for issue resolution during prototype builds and production launches.
·        Collaborate with CAE, NVH, and aerodynamics teams to ensure optimal performance of exterior components.
·        Stay updated with the latest materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends in automotive exterior systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
·        Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
·        Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in exterior component design, development, and release in the automotive industry.
·        proficiency in cad tools such as catia v6.v5.
·        Strong understanding of materials, injection moulding, composite and other relevant manufacturing processes.
·        Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards.
·        Experience with 3D experience PLM systems and engineering change management.
·        Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
·        Excellent communication and project management skills.
·        Experience working with global OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
·        Knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements for exterior components.
·        Hands-on experience with prototype development and validation testing
