We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer with over 5 years of hands-on expertise in CREO and Chassis Design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end design and development of automotive chassis systems, ensuring optimal performance, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop chassis components and systems (frames, suspensions, mounting brackets, cross members, etc.) using PTC CREO.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Perform tolerance stack-ups, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for assembly (DFA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and simulation to ensure design feasibility.
- Create and manage detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
- Conduct design reviews and implement feedback from stakeholders.
- Support prototype builds, validation, and root cause analysis of design issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain design documentation and adhere to version control protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CREO (preferably CREO 4.0 or later).
- Proven experience in automotive chassis design (commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles, or passenger cars).
- Strong understanding of sheet metal, weldments, casting, and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 standards) and tolerance analysis.
- Knowledge of materials commonly used in chassis systems (steel, aluminum, composites).
- Good understanding of FEA results and ability to incorporate feedback into designs.
- Experience working in PLM environments (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to simulation tools like ANSYS or HyperMesh.
- Knowledge of global vehicle safety and design standards.
