DB2 Admin

 Job Description

• 5+ Years of Experience in supporting various DB DB2 (Version 10 onwards), Postgres and Oracle hosted on Azure cloud platforms and cloud native resources on Azure Cloud platform.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. 
• Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. (knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics) • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models. 
• Expertise in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for DB2/Oracle/Postgres (HADR). 
• Expertise in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL server (Always on availability group/ log shipping). 
• Experience in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle (Golden Gate/RAC/Data Guard). 
• Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts / shell scripting. 
• Experience in Azure cloud and azure databases maintenance. 
• Experience in writing and implementing Stored Procedures and PL/SQL. 
• Experience working with Windows and Linux servers. 
• Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice. 
• Perform BS software deployments in production, including firmware/ fixpack patching. 
• Responsible to perform and to support functional and actual disaster recovery. 

Troubleshoot reported incidents and perform impact analysis. 
• Review and implement Change Requests; provide consultation to requesters. 
• Track configuration changes and optimize the performance of databases. 
• Perform regular database backup; and perform recovery of database objects as required.
• Storage and capacity planning for future needs. 
• Work with Application team on database related defects; and Enhancement requests raised by stakeholders. 
• Liaise with vendors for technical support. 
• Good understanding of ITIL practice, especially change management and incident management. 
• Draft and maintain database Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents 
• Root cause analysis of production-related database issues 
• Need to collaborate with all members of the team, various departments, as well as work independently. 
• Basic Azure cloud knowledge. 
• Scripting Knowledge: PowerShell, Python, Perl, Json, etc..
• Experience in supporting SQL DB hosted in cloud native resources on Azure Cloud platform. 
• Hands on working with application team for support web servers and application issues 
• Exposure in administration of security products Antivirus, SIEM, HIPS, IPS, EDR, PAM, PIM, DAM and Syslog. 
• Exposure with or Working knowledge on scripts and DevOps tools, container services, Docker, Kubernetes.
