Job Description:
most of the tech stack is SQL, there are others too such as DB2, Oracle, Sybase etc.
Proactive monitoring of capacity of databases, services, market data, quotas.
An ideal candidate knows about query optimization, knows how to read a query plan and suggest improvements, and in general knows how to optimize code, database and configuration to get the most efficient and effective use of a database.
Responsibilities
Database Observability
Implement observability using industry tools like APM Tools, Log
Aggregators, Metrics Monitoring,
Define and monitor SLA, SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
Database Reliability
Performance
Ensure availability, scalability, and performance of database systems.
Design, build, and maintain core database infrastructure.
Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing to support high-throughput systems
Incident Management
Root Cause Analysis
Lead incident response for database-related outages.
Conduct blameless postmortems and drive continuous improvement
Collaboration
Support
Work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and SREs to ensure seamless DB operations.
Provide database expertise and support during software development lifecycle
