Database Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee physical database design and implement performance tuning
• Lead code and design reviews
• Implement disaster recovery for database servers
• Create standards and best practices for database design and development
• Ensure quality data creation, presentation and flow across systems
• Research and evaluate third-party tools to increase efficiency
• Act as a mentor for other team members
• Write complex stored procedures and enhance database applications
• Meet with team leaders to ensure data collection satisfaction and presentation
• Understand large data models quickly

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field
• One year of experience in developing MS-SQL database applications
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge of database design, administration and architecture in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
• Knowledge of Transact SQL
• Data modeling, query design, optimization and stored procedures experience
• Strong relationship management skills
• Knowledge of computer hardware, networks and storage devices, including SANS
• Strong understanding of business logic and processes
