Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Fixed Income Cash & FX technology team. This role is focused on uplifting key systems to enhance the visibility and traceability of data across the enterprise. You will work across large, complex codebases to annotate, define, and map risk data lineage, ensuring compliance and strategic accessibility of data within the firmwide data catalog.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance Fixed Income systems to support firmwide data cataloging initiatives.
  • Analyze and annotate existing system code to identify and document risk-related datasets.
  • Update build systems for automatic publishing and synchronization of data definitions.
  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream application teams to build comprehensive data lineage documentation.
  • Work across diverse programming languages to trace data transformations in live production systems.
  • Support efforts in metadata management, data governance, and schema alignment.


 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with large-scale production systems.
  • Proven ability to navigate and understand complex codebases and data schemas.
  • Expertise in Perl, Java, and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux environments, shell scripting, JSON, YAML, and scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys).
  • Familiarity with Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
  • Domain expertise in Fixed Income and FX trading systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong problem-solving mindset.


 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with C++ codebases.
  • Experience with data streaming or messaging technologies.
  • Prior involvement in enterprise data governance or metadata initiatives.
  • Exposure to build and CI/CD pipeline systems
