Data Modeler

Work closely with business and application development team to develop, define and maintain different abstract layers of data models like conceptual data model, logical data model etc.
Perform data analysis and data modeling for operational application and analytical databases.
Work closely with Business Information Architects and other technical and business architects to enable the development of the Integrated Information Capability Roadmap.
Identify new information capabilities needed to support business capabilities of a given business domain.
Lead database design sessions and capture data requirements for software engineering or re-engineering projects.

SQL Expertise, ability to use query tools such as AQT, TOAD, etc.
Sound understanding of the Kafka ecosystem and streaming Data, along with the interplay of architectural components: brokers, Zookeeper, producers/consumers, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams.
The ability to quickly and efficiently analyze and resolve performance issues within variety of operational environments.
Knowledge of system development life cycles and methodologies.
Familiar with Agile Development Methodology.
Proven problem-solving/problem resolution abilities.
Expertise in Relational and dimensional data modeling.
Strong UNIX shell scripting skills (primarily in COBOL, Perl).

Hands on experience as a Data Modeler on Big Data, Realtime Streaming Data Processing environment.
Advanced ETL experience using either Informatica or Data Stage.
UDB, SQL Server, Oracle, My SQL, Netezza or Teradata database experience.
Experience in database administration and impact analysis of data structure changes.
Experience in large scale ODS or data warehouse environment.
Experience with one of the major data modeling tools (ER Studio or Erwin).
Experience in transactional and operational, analytical, and MDM modeling techniques.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
