Data Governance Lead

Job Purpose:

To design, implement and operate the Data Governance strategy program for Bank’s Data Platform ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data practices, policies, and standards both at a technical and functional level.

Experience

Proven experience as a Data Governance role (10 – 15 years), with a strong track record of delivering successful data governance initiatives, implementing data management best practices, and driving data quality improvements across the organization in BFSI sector

Technical Skills

• Experience in data governance tools like Collibra or Alation for defining data stewardship functions.
• Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
• Experience in data management, including creating and implementing data management strategies and policies.
• Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
• Prior experience in data analysis, including using data analysis tools and software.

Responsibility

• Develop & maintain inventory of the source systems available in data platform, data owners, etc.
• Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality, metadata management and data protection standards.
• Serve as a liaison between Business and technology to ensure that data related business requirements are clearly defined and communicated.
• Define indicators for performance, compliance and adoption of data related policies, standards and practices.
• Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes
• Ensure controls are in place on data platform to ensure the data integrity by performing data integrity gap analysis.
• Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and IT.

Qualifications

• A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other equivalent subject
• Good to have DAMA(CDMP) and ICCP certifications or relevant Data Governance certificate.
