Position Overview: The Data Engineer will be responsible for managing data migration, data governance, and ensuring data integrity using GIT and Snowflake. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in data migration and governance. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, strategic planning, and communication skills to drive successful data initiatives and support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead data migration and governance projects, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and implement data migration strategies, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, data analytics, and business units, to ensure seamless data integration and governance.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and senior management on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and dependencies, ensuring proactive risk management and problem-solving.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in data engineering, integrating this knowledge into project planning and execution.
- Utilize GIT for version control and Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering, specifically in data migration and governance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in data engineering, data governance, or related fields are highly desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex data migration and governance projects.
- Strong understanding of data governance best practices, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
