Description

  • 3 to 5 years of consulting experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a Server Engineer.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with hypervisors such as VMware, Hyper-V or KVM.
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN network infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of DNS and all related concepts, both internal and external.
  • Strong conceptual understanding of highly available systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills, able to absorb and relate to new technical concepts quickly and build on knowledge learned.
  • Experience configuring and using OOBM for datacenter hardware.
  • Experience configuring and installing Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points and security appliances.
  • Experience configuring and installing Cisco, HPE Aruba, Dell or other enterprise class switches.
  • Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper or other security or edge devices.
  • Experience designing and supporting site to site and remote access VPN solutions.
  • Experience with SAN configuration and management as well as iSCSI and NFS connectivity.
  • Experience with documenting and diagramming complex systems deployments.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, Fiber Optic and DAC cabling technologies.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair network connectivity problems in a timely manner
  • Must be able to participate in after-hours and on-call work to for project work and customer support.

 

Preferred:

  • 3+ years information technology experience supporting inbound Customer requests or issue resolution.
  • Minimally 3 years in a Network Engineer or Junior Network Engineer hands-on role.
  • Conceptual understanding of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IEGRP).
  • Experience deploying and managing local backup environment such as Veeam or Acronis.
  • Strong working knowledge of desktop and server operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Cloud Systems (Azure & O365) and Microsoft Office Software
  • Experience with Active Directory account creation, password resets, group membership changes, distribution groups and other AD functions
  • Experience performing Microsoft Server Migrations (Active Directory, File Servers, SQL Servers, Exchange Servers)
  • Experience supporting VPN clients and VPN Administration.
  • Experience with managed wireless technologies (cloud and local controllers).
  • Excellent listening, questioning, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure, tact and effectiveness under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to organize information, efficiently manage time and balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly an ability to relay technical concepts to a business audience.
  • Advanced field-related education, degree, certifications
