Description
Design and evolve the data architecture to support a federated, domain-oriented data mesh aligned with the European Institution’s enterprise architecture and regulatory environment.
Model domain-specific data assets based on business capabilities, ensuring clarity in ownership, interoperability, and alignment with analytical and operational needs.
Develop and oversee data integration pipelines using Azure services such as Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse, enabling efficient ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
Define and promote reusable data products, establishing quality standards, access contracts, and discoverability across domains.
Contribute to FinOps practices by designing cost-effective and scalable solutions that optimize cloud resource usage.
Provide architectural input to data-related projects, including reviews of modelling, compliance, and integration plans.
Support the implementation of data mesh principles, collaborating with enterprise architecture, governance, and security teams to promote decentralized data ownership.
Establish modelling and architecture standards, including guidelines and templates that support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives.
Apply data governance tools like Microsoft Purview to manage metadata, lineage, classification, and regulatory compliance.
Deliver clear architectural artefacts, including integration blueprints, product specifications, and security-aware data flow diagrams.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
At least 5 years of experience as a data architect / senior data engineer performing above key tasks.
An excellent command of the English language, corresponding to at least level C1
