Data Architect

Qualifications:

Proven experience designing data architectures with Microsoft Fabric and Azure cloud

Deep understanding of healthcare data security, compliance (e.g. HIPAA), and performance optimization

Strong background in implementing and managing enterprise data lakes, including Medallion architecture

Ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and communicate complex concepts effectively

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design (Primary Responsibility)

Architect end-to-end data lake and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, aligned to Cooper’s business goals, performance objectives, and compliance standards

Implement Fabric features: Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Semantic Model, Data Factory, Data Flow, Notebooks, Reflex, Power BI, Deployment Pipelines, and more

Establish secure and cost-effective workspace architecture standards, including access, data governance, and consumption practices

Technical Leadership & Delivery

Lead technical implementation of data projects, mentoring development teams and ensuring delivery excellence

Define and manage Medallion Data Lake architecture standards and best practices

Collaborate cross-functionally to balance technical rigor with business efficiency

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with internal business stakeholders to gather and translate data needs into scalable technical solutions

Advise on best practices for leveraging Microsoft Fabric for enterprise data strategy

Data Integration & Performance Optimization

Integrate multi-source data into Fabric platform ensuring accuracy, security, and availability

Optimize data architectures for scalability, reliability, and performance

Metadata & Catalog Management (Microsoft Purview)

Define Microsoft Purview governance standards: domains, policies, roles, products, and data elements

Proactively monitor catalog integrity to ensure trust, completeness, and compliance

Documentation & Training

Develop comprehensive documentation: technical specs, data flows, architecture diagrams, and SOPs

Train and mentor development teams to enhance platform adoption and solution quality

Innovation & Advanced Analytics

Stay current with emerging Microsoft Fabric and Azure capabilities, driving continuous improvement

Contribute to real-time analytics, data warehousing, and machine learning initiatives

Leverage Azure ecosystem: Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, DevOps, Monitor, and more
