Job Description
· Provides analytical support for complex systems to improve data quality, reliability, document metadata, assist in developing data governance for the Division’s data, and increase customer satisfaction with technology solutions implemented as part of the Division’s Work Zone ITS.
· Utilizing common BI tools, the successful candidate will review/write SQL and use accepted data visualization tools.
· Develop and make presentations to district personnel and agency management explaining the planned and actual utilization of resources for Construction’s data systems. Create interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SAP Business Objects, as well as Big Data or GIS-cloud-based tools.
· Provide training and assistance to district and other assigned personnel on the following:
· Data available from complex systems, the tools, and reporting to access the data,
· How to properly evaluate data quality to assure confidence in decision making.
· Support end-users on how to use BI tools and interpret reports effectively, as well as troubleshoot issues and address user inquiries to ensure the smooth operation of BI solutions.
· Developing a webpage that provides quick educational documentation/videos about various work zone and traffic control techniques for new staff or the general public.
· Proposes, reviews, troubleshoots, and recommends implementation of data integration, such as Big Data, into Construction Operations. Coordinates and leads district staff as well as vendors to ensure work zone technologies are reporting live and accurate information.
· Additional experience with the following will be beneficial. Please include months of experience with each of the tools listed.
· Data modeling. Please list the tools used.
· CADD modeling, particularly 3D modeling, preferably with Bentley tools. Autodesk tools and modeling, other technologies should be listed.
· GIS experience, particularly with ESRI tools
