Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented D365 F&O Release Manager to lead and coordinate all release management activities within our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environment. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end release cycles, including planning, deployment, risk management, and post-release activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong governance skills, technical understanding of D365 F&O, and a collaborative mindset to ensure smooth and secure rollouts of updates and customizations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and manage the D365 F&O release calendar, aligning with business and technical stakeholders.
• Oversee deployment of code and configurations across environments (Development, Test, UAT, Production).
• Govern the release lifecycle by coordinating build, test, and deployment activities using LCS and Azure DevOps.
• Ensure all releases follow structured testing, including unit, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Lead go/no-go assessments, risk reviews, and ensure rollback and contingency plans are in place.
• Serve as the single point of contact for release-related communication to all stakeholders.
• Coordinate cutover activities during releases and ensure minimal downtime during deployments.
• Maintain documentation including release notes, test evidence, and audit compliance reports.
• Continuously improve release processes by adopting CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in ERP release management, preferably within D365 F&O or AX.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft LCS, Azure DevOps, and D365 environment topology.
• Experience with managing releases in a regulated or audit-sensitive environment.
• Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple parallel releases and prioritize effectively.
Nice to Have:
• Microsoft certifications in D365 F&O or Azure.
• Experience in managing third-party integrations or ISV solutions in D365.
• Knowledge of automation tools or scripting in Azure pipelines.
