Job Description

The Principal SDET - Cybersecurity Test Engineer plays a critical role in our medical device company, driving innovation and improving patient outcomes through life-saving technology. This role involves close collaboration with architects and team leaders, providing technical leadership and mentoring emerging cybersecurity engineers.

Responsibilities include identifying vulnerabilities, developing and executing cybersecurity test strategies for TBCT software systems, and ensuring compliance with medical device regulations. The role requires independent judgment, strategic thinking, and hands-on technical expertise in a dynamic R&D environment.

 

Essential Duties

  • Lead technical development and direction of cybersecurity testing initiatives
  • Design and execute automated test scripts to ensure robust security protocols
  • Collaborate with development, cybersecurity, and QA teams to integrate security testing
  • Develop test plans aligned with medical device regulatory standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement data protection measures
  • Stay current with cybersecurity threats and adjust testing methodologies accordingly
  • Contribute to codebases and provide Agile team leadership
  • Drive testing standards and conduct vulnerability assessments
  • Implement and maintain automation tools and frameworks
  • Lead dynamic application security testing (DAST)
  • Coordinate with third-party partners for collaborative testing
  • Develop training materials and mentor team members
  • Oversee code reviews and ensure testing quality across systems

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and align group goals with corporate objectives
  • Collaborate with regulatory and QA teams to uphold industry standards
  • Supervise SQA/testing activities across teams, emphasizing scalable and reusable practices

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Experience: Minimum 8 years in SDET roles, with 5 years in cybersecurity testing

Skills:

  • Expertise in OOP, design patterns, data structures
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and protocols
  • Proficiency in automated testing and programming languages (.NET C#, C++, Python)
  • Familiarity with Docker, Terraform, REST, JSON
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and cloud security best practices
  • Skilled in DAST tools and techniques
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring abilities
  • Ability to make high-quality decisions under uncertainty
  • Motivated, team-oriented, and proactive problem solver
