Description

Responsibilities:

  • Architect a solution to effectively provide remote engineering support of the AIL-SV autonomous vehicle
    • Objective: Take the test engineer out of the back seat and put him or her into the cloud to remotely operate vehicles for test purposes
    • Remotely starting/stopping ROS nodes on the autonomous vehicle
    • Monitoring status of computers, sensors, connectivity, and ROS nodes
    • Sending target destinations at appropriate time
    • UX for safety driver to know status of autonomous software and indicate problematic scenes for later engineering review
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to build scalable solutions
  • Translate requirements from stakeholders into development tasks for the team
  • Develop high-quality, modular prototype software to support wide variety of requirements
  • Conduct end to end tests with prototypes and analyze experimental data

Required Skills:

  • Automotive Industry or Robotics Industry experience.
  • Autonomous / Self-Driving / Smart Vehicles LIDAR experience preferred.
  • C++ and/or Python (C++ may be required and will be determined by candidate's individual skillsets, through the interview process).
  • Networking experience.
  • Cloud services exp.
  • Tunneling, cellular reliability.
  • Encryption and Security knowledge.
  • UX design (basic knowledge).
  • AI, Big Data, Client all great to have.
  • BSEE, BSCS or relevant 4-year engineering degree.
  • ROS * (for producing Lidar Data - can be trained)
