Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end Appian (BPM, Workflow) application development, including design, build, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and project managers to deliver solutions that align with business needs while adhering to technical standards.
  • Research and evaluate technologies in support of the technical strategy, and implement new infrastructure solutions in accordance with established standards and governance.
  • Mentor and assist teammates in developing technical competencies in new technologies.
  • Ensure deliverables meet HSBC's quality standards and best practices.
  • Prepare project-related documentation while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and audit policies.
  • Provide consultancy and support to developers and business teams regarding security access and technical queries.
  • Work closely with global and regional stakeholders, as well as global development teams, on mandatory, regulatory, and development projects.
  • Ensure systems comply with group infrastructure and security policies and standards.
  • Support applications at both the platform and application level, ensuring operational stability.

Experience Requirements:

  • 7-10 years experience working on Appian platforms.
  • Strong experience in building and optimizing database queries, and designing database solutions.
  • Familiarity with Business Process Management (BPM) systems or a strong willingness to self-learn BPM tools such as Appian.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, SAIL, Appian Development, SQL, and Mule.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing third-party integrations.
  • Understanding of DevOps methodologies is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile Scrum practices and experience with project management tools like JIRA.
  • Experience working in multicultural environments with the ability to adapt to different cultures.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, balance competing priorities, and deliver results on complex development projects and integrations.
  • High attention to detail paired with the ability to articulate design and implementation aspects concisely.
