Responsibilities

  • Responsible for analysis, design, programming, testing and implementation for new and existing business application software, and production support for systems with medium complexity.
  • Analyze, design, code, test and implement complex systematic solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide general support to maintain complex applications that meet the service levels, system availability, performance and quality levels required.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance.
  • Analyst Perform thorough and exhaustive unit, integration and system testing.
  • May mentor less experienced team members.

Required Skills

  • Expert technical knowledge in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, FTP, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, QMF is required
  • Knowledge in CICS, COBOL & DB2 . Assembler Knowledge is plus.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment.
  • Expert in multiple languages and tools. Some knowledge in emerging technologies.
  • Should be able to support production and should be available to support oncall, as needed.
  • Ability to provide and implement technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with COBOL, JCL , CICS , DB2.
  • 85 Months experience with IDMS DBA Experience, supporting daily production IDMS maintenance jobs, including backup and recovery, monitoring/adjusting IDMS databases for optimal performance, as well as area resizing.
  • Experience in Mainframe/COBOL language.
  • Experience with Project Management tools.
  • Experience with databases.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
