Cloud System Administrator

Overview:

As a Cloud System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and functionality of our company’s cloud infrastructures, including Linux servers, AWS, and GCP platforms. You will play a key role in managing our cloud resources, ensuring optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer and manage Linux servers, ensuring high performance and availability.

- Oversee cloud-based services on AWS and GCP, including setup, maintenance, and optimisation.

- Understand and implement HPC tools for cluster management.

- Manage NAS (Network-Attached Storage) drives, ensuring efficient storage solutions.

- Implement and maintain cloud security measures.

- Conduct regular system audits.

- Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve any issues related to cloud infrastructure.

- Automate cloud-based tasks using scripting languages.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Cloud System Administrator or similar role.

- Strong knowledge of Linux server administration.

- Proficiency with cloud services on AWS and GCP.

- Familiarity with HPC basics and cluster setup.

- Experience with NAS storage management.

- Knowledge of cloud security practices and data protection.

- Ability to script in languages like Python, Bash, or Perl.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Skills:

- Certifications in AWS, GCP, Linux, or similar.

- Experience with network administration and firewalls.

- Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
