Cloud engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using AWS or Google Cloud.

• Ensure compliance with asset management regulations in relevant countries.

• Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost, and security.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud solutions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues promptly.

• Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes.

• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.

• Managing cloud environments in accordance with company policies and security guidelines.

• Developing, deploying and debugging IaC code (Cloud formation and Terraform).

• Interacting with users, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on user needs.

• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems.

• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.

• Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 3-7 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS or Google Cloud.

• Experience in the financial services industry.

• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and cost management.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

• Familiarity with asset management regulations in countries where UOB Asset Management operates.

• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
