Job Summary:

Our client is a leader in healthcare innovation and excellence, is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our IT Systems Architecture team. This position is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and management of robust and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions that support mission-critical hospital and healthcare operations. The Cloud Engineer will ensure the secure, efficient, and high-performing operation of hybrid environments across on-premise and public cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement enterprise-level cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives across multiple business units.
  • Provide hands-on support and administration of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize storage systems and solutions, ensuring availability, integrity, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business needs and deliver tailored cloud and virtualization strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Maintain and document architecture standards, procedures, and best practices.

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Licensure/Certifications:

At least two (2) active certifications are required in one of the following areas:

  • Cloud Technologies (Azure or AWS)
  • Microsoft Certification in Windows Server Technologies
  • Virtualization Technologies (VCP)
  • Storage Technologies (Dell/EMC/Cloud or Epic)

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other computer-related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of relevant IT experience may be considered.

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and engineering infrastructure solutions, with proven implementation in on-premise, Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in storage management and administration within an enterprise IT environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, DevOps practices, and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience in hybrid cloud architecture and workload migration strategies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
