Cloud Architect

As a Confluent Cloud Architect, you will play a crucial role in architecting, designing, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance data streaming infrastructures using Confluent Cloud and Apache Kafka. Your responsibilities will include service management on cloud platforms, integrating Confluent Cloud with cloud providers (Azure, GCP, or AWS), ensuring high availability and disaster recovery, and driving cloud security and DevOps strategies. You will also leverage your estimation and resource planning skills to manage resource allocation for various modules.
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Architect and design scalable, secure, and high-performance data streaming infrastructure with Confluent Cloud and Apache Kafka.
• Manage cloud services such as storage, servers, and networks.
• Integrate Confluent Cloud with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS) and enterprise applications, with a preference for Azure or GCP.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance for Kafka-based architectures.
• Lead and implement cloud security requirements across the infrastructure.
• Strategize and guide DevOps and site reliability engineering efforts.
• Estimate and plan resources for specific modules using best practices in resource planning.

Skills and Qualifications:
 

• 10+ years of industry experience.
• Confluent Certified Administrator/Developer or equivalent certifications.
• Expertise in tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting Kafka clusters using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Experience in data governance and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) for streaming data.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS (Azure or GCP preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect.
• Proven experience in automating infrastructure provisioning (compute, networking, storage) and utilizing DevOps tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm/Draft.
• Strong knowledge of IT security practices like identity and access management, data protection, encryption, and certificate/key management.
• Understanding of cloud architecture concepts for compute, storage, networking, load balancing, security, and containers.
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking.
• An Azure/GCP/AWS certification is a plus.
• Proficient in Python and open-source tools to support continuous deployment
