Decision-making and Problem Solving

Key to your role will be to obtain a clear understanding of problems, collect the necessary data, and develop a list of workable solutions accompanied by recommendations. You will need to make key decisions ensuring you have identified and analysed a finite set of alternatives described in terms of specific evaluative criteria.

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Person Specification

• Have experience running workshops, performing 1-1 interviews, holding presentations.

• Experience managing several projects at time with different challenging delivery timeframes.

• Experience managing multiple projects across different time zones

• Good knowledge and experience of gathering and documenting requirements through User Stories using Gherkin language

• Have an inquisitive nature; able to work independently to take a problem, break it down, recognise additional questions and find solutions.

• Experience of designing effective and efficient strategic solutions.

• Experience of writing functional specifications that can be delivered to three audiences, the business, developers and testers.

• Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail

• Must be proactive, able to act on initiative and have a ‘hands on” attitude

• Proven ability to communicate issues to both technical and non-technical audience

• Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task and prioritise

• Highly organised, delivering results in demanding environments

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

• Proven ability to influence and manage across multiple teams and regions to deliver complex projects

• Very strong project management skills

• Ability to write high quality Business Requirement Documents and Functional Specs that are clear and concise enough for both Operations and developers to follow

• A team player willing to share knowledge and help others

• Understand the LEAN principles and has the ability to apply them

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of confirmation workflows including drafting technologies would be helpful

• Good product knowledge including one of the following areas Equities Derivatives, FX, Interest Rate Derivatives, Commodities, Credit derivatives, Securities, FX Forwards and NDF’s.
