The IT Business Analyst (BA) will play a key role in supporting project management efforts by facilitating effective communication between business units, project teams, and stakeholders. Responsibilities include:
• Requirement Gathering & Management: Elicit, document, and manage business requirements (features & user stories) for assigned projects. Decompose user stories into manageable tasks for development teams. Define and lead the identification of acceptance criteria for each user story. Engage stakeholders through probing questions to ensure clear understanding of project needs.
• Project Support: Assist the Project Manager (PM) in overseeing project deliverables. Manage the analysis and testing components of projects, owning these phases to ensure quality outcomes. Lead development teams during project execution by providing clarity on work requirements, addressing technical roadblocks, and escalating issues as needed.
• Process Improvement: Analyze current business processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and value. Identify gaps in data requirements and work with relevant teams to address them. Propose system enhancements based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals. Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that solutions meet business expectations. Provide ongoing support to stakeholders post-implementation, addressing issues and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
• Documentation & Communication: Create and maintain project documentation, including requirements, use cases, user stories, mock-ups, and testing plans. Clearly articulate technical and business concepts to diverse audiences, from technical experts to executive leadership. Manage stakeholder expectations regarding project timelines and deliverables.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2–3 years of experience in business analysis, working with stakeholders to identify IT needs and facilitate effective solutions.
• Technical Skills: Strong background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process improvement. Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative development practices. Experience with task creation, backlog management, and sprint planning.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex business processes. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them effectively to business scenarios. Attention to detail, ensuring all project components are thoroughly vetted and validated.
• Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Effective time management and the ability to meet tight deadlines
