Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Administrator / Technical Writer to join our project management team. This individual will play a key role in capturing, structuring, and communicating complex technical information across the program. The role involves developing clear, accurate, and accessible documentation to support network operations, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders. They will translate highly technical concepts, spanning DOCSIS, PON, virtualization, telemetry, and proactive network maintenance into structured deliverables such as service management plans, KPI catalogs, runbooks, playbooks, and knowledge articles.

Working closely with engineers, architects, and program leads, they will ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy across all documentation, aligning with internal frameworks and industry standards (CableLabs, SCTE, NCTA). They will also contribute to building scalable documentation processes, standard templates, and layered frameworks (physical, logical, and customer-experience perspectives) to support ongoing network evolution.

This role requires a balance of strong writing and editing skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities
 

  1. Documentation Development
  • Author and maintain technical content including Service Management Plans (SMPs), KPI catalogs, process runbooks, playbooks, technical network diagrams, and technical standards.
  • Translate complex DOCSIS, PON, virtualization, telemetry, and AI/automation concepts into audience-appropriate language.
  • Develop layered documentation frameworks (physical, logical, customer experience) to align with industry best practices.
  1. Collaboration & Knowledge Gathering
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, program managers, and leadership to capture technical insights.
  • Facilitate interviews, workshops, and information-gathering sessions to ensure documentation reflects both technical accuracy and operational needs.
  • Act as a documentation liaison across workstreams to ensure alignment with broader vCMTS and network strategy initiatives.
  1. Quality & Consistency
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides.
  • Ensure all documentation meets internal and external compliance, accessibility, and industry standards (CableLabs, SCTE, NCTA).
  • Conduct peer reviews and edit documentation for clarity, structure, and consistency.
  1. Process & Insights
  • Build scalable documentation processes and repositories that support ongoing knowledge management.
  • Incorporate feedback loops and version control practices to keep documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Provide executive-friendly summaries, visuals, and communication materials that highlight key insights from technical data.

  • Proven experience in business administration and technical writing, preferably within a project management environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio). Project management software knowledge would be an asset


Optional Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of content management systems and document control processes.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or technical writing (e.g., CPTC) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools is a plus
