BI Tester

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for Data Warehouse (DWH) systems and Power BI reports.
• Validate the data in DWH, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness from source systems to reports.
• Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) testing to ensure proper data flow from multiple sources into the warehouse.
• Create and maintain SQL queries to validate data and ensure data integrity within the warehouse and BI tools.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and data engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed testing scenarios.
• Conduct functional, regression, performance, and load testing of DWH solutions.
• Review Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure they meet the required specifications and data accuracy.
• Document defects, issues, and improvements found during testing, and work with the development team to ensure their resolution.
• Automate data validation and testing processes where applicable, leveraging appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide timely feedback on testing results.

Qualifications:
• Experience in QA, with a focus on Data Warehouse (DWH) testing and BI tools like Power BI.
• Test Data pipelines and data warehouse.
• Proficiency in SQL for writing complex queries to validate and manipulate data.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and testing.
• Experience with Power BI or other BI/reporting tools for validating reports and dashboards.
• Strong knowledge of data validation techniques, testing large datasets, and understanding database structures.
• Familiarity with data quality processes, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting data discrepancies.
• Experience with test automation tools for data validation (preferred).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
