Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that interface with telephony and VoIP technologies.
• Integrate and optimize APIs, specifically working with OAI, Elevenlabs, Deepgram, and FreeSWITCH.
• Build robust and scalable products focused on telephony, optimizing switch time, reducing bridge-to-connect time, and improving voicemail detection accuracy.
• Utilize state-of-the-art industry practices, including OS libraries, to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to telephony systems and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Minimum Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Node/Typescript development
• Proven experience in telephony and VoIP, including building products around these technologies.
• Hands-on experience with FreeSWITCH or similar telephony platforms.
• Proficiency in optimizing switch time and reducing bridge-to-connect time.
• Experience in reducing false positive/negative rates in voicemail detection.
• Familiarity with best/SOTA industry practices, including the use of OS libraries.
• Strong programming skills in languages commonly used in backend development
