Backend Engineer (Node.js, TypeScript, FreeSWITCH)

Mandatory Skills:
5+ years of backend development experience
Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and FreeSWITCH
Strong background in telephony & VoIP system development

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for telephony & VoIP applications
Integrate & optimize APIs (OAI, Elevenlabs, Deepgram, FreeSWITCH)
Build scalable telephony products focusing on switch time, bridge-to-connect time, and voicemail detection accuracy
Apply industry best practices & OS libraries for performance and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in telephony systems & APIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and ship new features

Minimum Requirements:
Hands-on experience with Node.js & TypeScript
Proven experience developing telephony & VoIP products
Deep expertise in FreeSWITCH or similar telephony platforms
Experience optimizing switch time & reducing bridge-to-connect time
Familiarity with voicemail detection improvements (false positive/negative rate reduction)
Strong knowledge of backend programming & industry-standard practices

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with OAI API, Elevenlabs, and Deepgram
Understanding of network protocols & telecommunication standards
Prior experience in telecom-related roles
