Azure Data Engineer

The Data & Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to enhance analytics solutions within Marathon’s Insights & Discovery Platform, leveraging Microsoft Azure Cloud and Azure Synapse Analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Manage data engineering projects from inception to completion.
Solution Development: Design and implement analytics solutions on Azure Synapse Analytics.
Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing solutions.
Data Management: Utilize Azure tools for data preparation, integration, and storage.
Automation: Drive automation of data preparation tasks.
Collaboration: Partner with IT teams to gather and document requirements.
Documentation: Provide solutions and recommendations for analytics initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with data science, governance, and IT/business teams.
Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends and enhance technical skills.
Agile Participation: Engage in scaled agile framework for data engineering delivery.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in data pipelines and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
Experience with agile frameworks for data engineering.
Azure certifications in analytics technologies are a plus.
Skills:
Technical: Proficient in Microsoft SQL, data modeling, and OLAP concepts.
Azure: Experience with Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Python.
Visualization: Familiarity with Power BI and Tableau.
Methodologies: Knowledge of Scaled Agile, DevOps, and ITIL is advantageous.
SSIS/SSRS/SSAS: Experience with Microsoft tools is a plus.
