Azure Data Architect

Job Description:-

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable data architecture solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Lead data modernization and migration projects from on-prem to Azure.

Develop Azure data services including Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Databricks, Data Factory, and Purview.

Create data models, data flow diagrams, and metadata documentation.

Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define requirements and data strategy.

Ensure data solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with governance policies.

Implement best practices for data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing.

Monitor and optimize performance, availability, and cost of cloud data solutions.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

7+ years of experience in data architecture or related roles.

3+ years of experience designing solutions in Microsoft Azure.

Strong experience with:

Azure Data Factory

Azure Synapse Analytics

Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2

Azure SQL Database & Managed Instances

Azure Databricks / Spark

Power BI (integration experience)

Solid understanding of data modeling (OLTP & OLAP), data governance, and master data management.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala.

Experience with DevOps, CI/CD for data pipelines using Azure DevOps is a plus.

Knowledge of data security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
