- Azure Architect will be advising agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure including in-place migrations/refactoring.
- Architect will need to make recommendations on lift and shift and on-premise to cloud native migrations.
- Architect will need to make recommendations with refactoring within Azure environment.
- Architect will need to conduct testing within Azure to show minimal viable product of an architecture.
- Architect will need to understand available offerings from COV, MSI and other connected parties.
- Architect will make configurations to Azure in support of agency-level objectives. Configurations will be primarily to Azure-based services.
- Architect will need to sign Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on Azure architecture and security issues, particularly involving migrations and application refactoring.
- Recommend appropriate strategies for lift-and-shift, hybrid, or cloud-native transformations.
- Execute proof-of-concept (PoC) testing within Azure to validate architectural designs.
- Apply deep knowledge of COV, MSI, and associated service offerings to ensure compliance and alignment.
- Configure Azure-based services to meet agency-level business and security objectives.
- Develop professional documentation such as position papers, architectural designs, and technical strategy documents.
Required Experience (Minimum):
- 5 years – Cloud architecture fundamentals
- 5 years – Single and multi-cloud strategies
- 5 years – Cloud solution design to meet business requirements
- 5 years – Azure network and storage architecture
- 5 years – Azure services (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Entra ID)
- 5 years – Azure Functions, Web Apps, Containers, microservices, serverless
- 5 years – Cloud security principles (e.g., zero-trust, conditional access)
- 5 years – Availability and disaster recovery (RPO/RTO) in Azure
- 5 years – Professional documentation (architecture docs, whitepapers)
- 5 years – Cloud-based security posture and threat mitigation
- 5 years – DevOps experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise)
- 5 years – SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB or similar storage technologies
- 5 years – On-premise architecture design
- 5 years – Strong communication with technical and business teams
- 2 years – Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect (Certification must be uploaded)
