Job Role and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Migration Leadership:

Lead and manage cloud migration projects, ensuring successful and timely execution, with a primary focus on AWS.
Provide deep technical expertise in migrating various applications from on-premises environments to AWS Cloud.

AWS Tools:

AWS Migration Hub: Track and manage the migration process from a central location.
AWS Application Discovery Service: Collect configuration, usage, and behavior data from on-premises servers.
AWS Database Migration Service (DMS): Migrate databases to AWS quickly and securely.
AWS Server Migration Service (SMS): Migrate on-premises workloads to AWS.

Techniques:

Rehosting ("Lift and Shift"): Move applications to the cloud with minimal changes.
Re-platforming: Making few cloud optimizations to achieve tangible benefits.
Refactoring: Re-architect applications to fully leverage cloud-native features.
Hybrid Cloud: Combine on-premises and cloud resources to achieve flexibility and scalability.
Data Migration: Use data migration services and strategies to transfer large datasets.

Technical Guidance and Support:

Offer technical guidance throughout the migration process, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve any migration-related issues efficiently.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other IT teams like Server support/ Database/Application teams, network engineers, and security specialists, to ensure seamless migration and integration.
Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and clients on cloud migration practices and AWS tools.

Documentation:

Create detailed technical documentation in both English and Japanese, covering all aspects of the migration process.

Client Liaison:

Act as a liaison between clients and technical teams to ensure clear communication and manage client expectations.
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction with the migration process.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effectively.
Fluency in both Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Language Proficiency:

Bilingual proficiency with N2 certification in Japanese.

Experience:

8-10 years of hands-on experience in cloud migration projects, with a strong focus on AWS.

AWS Expertise:

Strong expertise in AWS with relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).

Additional Certifications:

Additional cloud certifications (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud) are a plus
