AWS IoT Specialist

 Job Description

The AWS IoT Specialist brings deep and broad subject matter expertise in the AWS IoT portfolio of services including IoT Core, SiteWise, SiteWise Edge, GreenGrass, IoT Events, and IoT Device Defender. The role also brings baseline competency in other AWS services such as CloudWatch, IAM, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway. This expertise is leveraged to provide and implement configurations for AWS services that improve the security, scalability, and resilience of the customer solution. Key Responsibilities: - Under guidance from Black and Veatch Digital Enterprise Architects, Security Architects, and AWS Cloud Engineers, propose, design, and implement detailed configurations of AWS IoT services in support of project requirements. - Advise on trade-offs, risks, and options for multiple potential solutions. - Implement the configuration in the system using infrastructure as code (IAC) methods such as Terraform where applicable, and with Python scripting in areas Terraform is not applicable. - Implement solutions that are deployable automatically and can be integrated into CI/CD pipelines. - Document and advise on testing and QA approaches for configurations. - Document solutions including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational runbooks. Minimum Qualifications: Education: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis, mathematics, or a related study, or equivalent experience. AWS Certifications are not required but are preferred. Experience: - 5 years of experience with AWS. - 3 years of experience with AWS IoT services. - Hands-on experience configuring AWS IoT Core, SiteWise, SiteWise Edge, and GreenGrass. - Experience with Linux OS configuration. - Experience configuring AWS IoT Device Defender. - Experience with Terraform and Python scripting for configuration automation. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in US English. - Experience with AWS Well-Architected pillars, especially the security pillar and IoT lens. - Deep understanding of AWS IoT security and best practices.
